Born in Taiwan in 1996, Tung-Lin began to learn the cello with I-Wen Lin, I-Ting Chen, Ching-Wen Hsu and Chu-Chuan Liu in Taiwan. He is influenced in Europe by many important mentors, including Maria Kliegel, Xenia Jankovic, Enrico Bronzi, Lionel Cottet and Reiner Ginzel.
Since 2017 he has been a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie as well as Acarta Chamber Orchestra in Stuttgart, in the 2021/22 season he was the academist of the Philharmonie Salzburg and from the 2022/23 season he is the member of Chamber Orchestra Mannheim ( Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester ) under the baton of chef conducter Paul Meyer.
Tung-Lin participated in numerous master classes, including Wen-Sinn Yang, Natalia Gutman, Norbert Anger, Wolfgang Böttcher, Raphaël Pidoux and Bonian Tian. For chamber music, he studied with Thomas Reif, Dirk Mommertz, Silke Avenhaus, Sierra Vázquez Cibrán, Jürgen Weber and Friedrich Berger in his graduate studies.
In 2014, Tung-Lin won first prize at the Taiwan National Student Competition in the cello category, also was prize winner of the Taiwan Rising Star competition in 2017. In 2018, he was the finalist in the Anton Rubinstein International Cello Competition and was invited to the Schoenfeld International String Competition in China and Classic Strings in Dubai.
Since 2016, he has been a scholarship recipient of the Live Music Now Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in Munich, Hsin-Tien Temple Scholarship as well as sponsored by Yeh family privately in Taiwan. He plays an unique Cello from Maggini Foundation in Switzerland.
